If I didn’t tell you,
you wouldn’t believe me

Two phenomenal people, who won our light-curing equipment raffle after CIOSP, had much more in common than their names on a registration form. They stopped by our stand, registered and, like so many other participants, entered the prize draw. When I saw that they had both won, I tried to contact them to tell them the news, calling them, messaging them, but to no avail. I couldn’t get through to them at any point.

Not knowing them personally and not knowing that there was any connection between the two, I decided to try another route, social media. Searching and searching, I arrived at their office. And that’s when the first surprise came: they both worked in the same place.

I found this curious and decided to contact the clinic. It was then that I discovered the reason for the silence: they were both doing voluntary work in Angola. Their work colleagues were taking part in social actions around Brazil and the world, bringing care and assistance to those who need it most.

After some insistence, I finally managed to talk to them. Chatting back and forth, I discovered that they were husband and wife, partners in their profession and mission, with a career marked by actions in so many places. It was late here in Brazil, even later there, and in the audios they sent me, you could even hear the crickets in the background.

The photos and videos of the patients they treated moved me deeply. The impact of that voluntary work made everything make sense. In the end, nothing could be fairer, two pieces of equipment rewarding two people who are so close, connected and special, who use their talent to transform lives.
